Island Fête

WHAT IS IT?

Island Fête is a free 1-day outdoor festival celebrating Caribbean food and Black art. This free, family-friendly event will have guests enjoying authentic Caribbean food while being entertained by Montreal’s best and brightest musicians. BIPOC-owned businesses selling hand poured candles, hot sauces, children’s books and toys, and more will also be showcased in an onsite vendor market. The event is hosted by Montreal’s own Malik Shaheed and Miss Trish. Headliners for the event include Juno Award winner Mikey Dangerous & The Higher Heights Band, and the renowned Jab Djab band, who will both deliver music with a cultural blend. Local artists and DJs will also have guests “fêting” throughout the day.

For families with young kids, we’ll have bouncy castles from 11:00am to 7:00pm and face painting on site from 12:00pm to 5:00pm for your little ones to enjoy at no cost. All ages are welcome.

While Island Fête is free to attend, the event is also a fundraiser. You can help support Overture with the Arts (OWTA) by offering donations, buying tickets to our onsite raffle, and/or buying treats from OWTA’s baked goods/ snack table

Rain or shine – We look forward to celebrating with the community on Saturday, September 2.
